Alexander Nieves

Alexander Lee LoCicero-Campbell-Nieves (Professionally known as Alexander Lee Nieves) is a prominent American community leader, producer, and entrepreneur based in Aurora, Colorado. Of Salvadorian and Italian descent, he is widely recognized for his advocacy in cultural preservation, neurodiversity, and community service within the Latino and Puerto Rican populations.

Organizational Leadership & "Serve Aurora"

 

Alexander is the founder and Executive Director of Nieves Ministries, which now publicly operates as Serve Aurora. This nonprofit serves as an umbrella for several diverse initiatives that bridge faith, public safety, and economic empowerment:

Pinnacle Defense: Colorado's first 501(c)(3) security firm. Unlike traditional security companies that often have high costs and rigid contracts, Pinnacle Defense focuses on affordability and accessibility. It provides high-level protection for small businesses, churches, and individuals who may not be able to afford the rates of major security corporations, ensuring that safety is a right for all, not just a luxury.

Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Colorado: A vital program under the Serve Aurora umbrella, this organization promotes business development, networking, and cultural identity for Latino entrepreneurs, helping to bridge the gap between local commerce and community needs.

Cultural Preservation & Heritage

Alexander’s deep commitment to Puerto Rican culture is both a lifelong passion and a family tribute. His connection to the community is rooted in his childhood and strengthened through his marriage:

A Lifelong Tradition: Since the 3rd grade, Alexander was raised attending Colorado’s previous festival, "A Taste of Puerto Rico," which laid the foundation for his dedication to the island's traditions.

Family Ties: He actively celebrates the roots of Puerto Rico in Colorado as a tribute to his wife and in-laws, whose heritage deeply influences his mission to keep the Boricua spirit alive in the Mountain West.

Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival: As a leader in the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce, Alexander produces the "Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival," Colorado’s largest Puerto Rican cultural event. His influence led to the official proclamation of July 26 as "Island of Enchantment Day" in Aurora.

Family & Personal Journey

Zachary Nieves: Alexander’s twin brother, Zachary, is a central figure in his advocacy. Zachary has developmental disabilities that affect traditional speech, connecting with others through music and rhythm.

Alexander promotes neurodiversity and inclusion through Zachary's story, recently arranging for him to meet his idol, radio personality Toshamakia, at the 2025 festival.

Matriarchal Influence: Alexander is the son of Jessica Leigh Nieves and the grandson of Carol LoCicero, a significant figure in his life.
