City of Aurora Proclaims July 26 as Island of Enchantment Day

Mayor Mike Coffman has officially proclaimed July 26, 2025, as Island of Enchantment Day (Isla del Encanto Day). This historic recognition honors the cultural, historical, and societal contributions of the Puerto Rican community within the City of Aurora and across Colorado.
In celebration of this proclamation, Nieves Ministries and the Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce of Colorado are launching the inaugural Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival. Executive Director Alexander Nieves emphasized that this day is a testament to the "deep heritage and vital contributions" of Puerto Rican families, marking a significant step toward unity and cultural representation in the city.
Inaugural Viva La Isla Del Encanto Festival Details
When: Saturday, July 26, 2025 | 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Where: Bicentennial Park, 13600 E Bayaud Ave, Aurora, CO
Admission: FREE and open to the public.
Festival Highlights:
Music & Dance: Traditional performances featuring live Puerto Rican rhythms and cultural dance groups.
Authentic Cuisine: A variety of Puerto Rican food vendors serving island staples.
Marketplace: Local and national small business vendors.
Family Fun: Community partner exhibits and family-friendly activities.
