As Colorado temperatures drop, Nieves Ministries, in coordination with local community partners, is taking direct action to support our unhoused neighbors. On Saturday, November 30, teams loaded over 400 pounds of essential care kits and blankets to distribute to those in need.

Founded by Alexander Nieves, the mission is fueled by lived experience. Having once faced homelessness themselves, Alexander and his wife bring a deep, personal connection to their outreach efforts. This weekend, the ministry operated alongside volunteers like Jeremiah Banks to hand-deliver warmth and basic amenities directly to individuals outside local shelters.

With the Denver Rescue Mission reporting an increased demand for services during the winter months, these community-led initiatives are more vital than ever. While the team focuses on providing warmth rather than meals, their presence serves as a powerful reminder of the compassionate spirit within the Aurora and Denver metro areas.

How You Can Help: You can support these efforts by donating supplies to the resource center located at 1010 S. Joliet St. Suite 103, Aurora, CO 80012. To schedule a donation drop-off or to learn more about volunteering, please call 720-772-9551.
